MECP is run with minimal administrative cost, which means most of donations received are actually spent on patient care and training of local ophthalmologists. These include:

 

• Purchase of medical equipment, instruments and consumables

• Upgrading of clinic and theatre facilities

• Travel support for nurses and technicians, and for ophthalmologists from developing countries

• Employment of local staff to organise and run the program in various centres
